Mick would probably chuckle if he heard us refer to him as a gentleman, because he certainly had no pretensions about himself, but Mick was one of nature’s gentlemen in the truest sense of the word. He was one of the kindest, gentlest, most thoughtful and helpful people you could come across. He would do anything for you and expect nothing in return. One of Jac’s earliest memories is being taught to drive by him at the back of his workshop - she was of course nowhere near old enough to apply for a licence. His everyday working garb fitted his profession as a very hands on engineer with a strong commitment to quality and reliability. But he could also spruce himself and he certainly fitted right in with a wide array of people of many backgrounds. His caring temperament was much appreciated by Janet, Sally & Steve and Jac & Tony and he will long be remembered for the loving soul that we feel blessed to have known. On a very practical note we will be reminded of Mick regularly during the summer months, whether it be in Sussex or Melbourne, through his signature product, the Caribbean Cooker. For many years we have enjoyed the consistently wonderful flavours of any barbeques prepared on the cooker. As we fire it up for many more years, we will raise a glass in thanks and in honour of its creator xxxx
